Not at School!!

Anje and I had the best Saturday ever, and not one moment of it was spent at school!
*
Our wonderful day started out at 8 a.m. when we went to stand in line for Harry Potter 4 tickets, but the cool thing about this showing was that it was hosted by the School District for WCEA members and the tickets were only $4.00. Anyway Anje & I were fifth in line, so we didn't have to stand outside for very long. The movie started at 9:00 and this one is my favorite one so far. I loved it because of all the different adventures and the characters actually have more personalities. I really didn't like the last one much, I think it was because Harry spent the whole time mopping and feeling sorry for himself, but in this one he is so much better. For those of you who haven't seen it, that is all I will say.

As we were walking out of the movie, Tonya called and said she was a block away from Blue Bunny and we meet for a little family snack time. I love the Peanut Butter Freizes (spelling?) They are so-o-o-o-o-o good. As we were snacking, Scott mentioned that there was a model train show happening at the Opera House, and said we should check it out. Shaylie had a birthday party to go to and the other Jes's were busy too, so they left and Anje & I headed to the Opera House. It was a pretty cool thing, Anje was running around following this one train when all the sudden she stopped and looked at me and said " It's going around a minature town." We then spent the rest of the time looking at the little people, little cars and the little animals. She loved it and when she saw the FOR SALE sign, she asked when we could get one!?! Well anyway, after much hours, I finally pulled Anj away from the trains. We started to head home by way of "turtle road", when we pasted the DIXIE sign - Anje sighed and said "someday I want to cross that bridge (speaking of the bridge that was built to connect two giant rocks together). Well what else could I - as the fabulous parent that I am - have done, I turned into the parking area. Anje screamed, and said "Really - you are really going to take me hiking? I smiled and she jumped into the front seat, hugging me and telling me I am the best! We got out and spent quite a while hiking, crawling and sitting up on the rocks talking about all the places in St. George that we have gone.

As it was getting late afternoon and the popcorn and ice cream was wearing off, Anje decided that the perfect day would not be, unless a trip to McDonald's was included. But mom got an imput and we choose the only McD's without a playland - We sat and had a really good conversation. My baby is growing up - (I feel tears).

Again we started to head for home, when the phone rang. "Hello?, Hi Anissa - Its Sherrie" (the singles rep for our ward) She invited Anje & I to a dinner and movie with the other single moms & dads - So after a little window shopping and small rearrangement of my living room, we headed off to dinner and the movie "The Greatest Game Ever Played" at the Dollar Theatre. This was a really good one - It held Anje's attention and (afterward I ran into one of my student's and her parents, who play professional golf for a living) Abby's dad said it was the only golf movie that has ever made him cry - So ...
*
One of the single gentleman invited us to go to JB's for a little chatage - but I had to decline, as Anje was falling asleep leaned up against my leg, so we headed straight upstairs when we got home and Anje was asleep within FIVE minutes of laying down.
*
I started to drift off and remembered that Anje was asked to give a talk in Church. Plus, it was the third Sunday, which is my lesson day, so there was my night!!It all worked out though as our ward doesn't start until 1:00 pm.
*
Anje did a wonderful job, she smiled and didn't sound like a robot - Wait until you all hear her reading, you will be so amazed!
*
Plus the fact that she couldn't stop thanking me for the MOST PERFECT DAY EVER!!!!!!

Anissa / Anje,
I am so glad that we can now post to your blog! Of course, now I can't remember all of the things that I tried to post earlier, oh well. Thanks for the story about the perfect Sat. I read it over and over. It made me remember several other Sat's. Thanks. Love, Dad & Pam
