Well last night was one of the worst nights ever! I have been having all over face pain for about 3 days - but last night I got about 1 1/2 hours sleep and the other time I spend downing Tylenol or in the shower with piping-hot water streaming right at my face. So this morning as a result I ended up at the dentist - 7 AM - (Anje was not happy, she was sleeping fine.)
He took some pictures and concluded that I had an incredible absested side front tooth and I needed an emergency root canal. During which her told me that I had infection all over my face including behind me eye. Joy. Luckily, School does not start until 9 am, because round about 8:30, he was still tring to get the infected root out. Dr. Moore then decided just to put a cotton tip in my tooth and leave it open while I went to school and then right after school I was to go back and finish up. So after being doped up with 2000 millligrams of IBUPROPHEN - Off I went. I got to school, ran into another 1st grade teacher, we started talking - she said I didn't look well, told her my saga and parted ways at my classroom. I went in, put my bags down, grabbed the three "to be copied "papers and headed back to the front office. By the time I returned from making copies, I had my entire team in my room trying to decided how to divide up my class so I could go home without using a "sub"day. They also had three back-up alternative plans and for lunch they went to Hogi-Yogi to get me a frozen yogurt - I love my team!!!!
Well the good news is I made it through the day and... and... AND...COLBY told me I was the best teacher ever with a HUG too!!
After school, I went back to Dr Moore but he told me I still had to much infection to complete, so he closed the tooth and told me to call after the weekend.

Anje was so cute at the dentist - The Dr. let her come in the back with me, she told him that she was going to be a dentist when she grew up and that was all it took - He took her under his wing . She got to push the X-ray buttons and he let her sit in the assistant's chair to watch close-up while he performed the surgery. And she took full advantage - Questioning everything and everyone! But I could tell by the way he was smiling - he was loving it. And when I showed up after school without her, he went on and on about how impressed he was with her knowledge and manners!!! He even offered to come to my class room for dental care week. And Anje had a blast telling her story for Show-and-Tell Today :)

I swear...you and your teeth....will there ever be peace between the two feuding parties? Probably not! Well have a great weekend. BYE
Anissa,
I hope he put you on some antibiotics to get rid of the infection! (You know, you are supposed to go when it first starts hurting. Maybe next time. Oh wait, I hope there isn't a next time!) Sounds like Anje had almost a good enough time to make up for your pain. You tell her that Papa thinks she can be anything in the world, even a dentist, because I know she will be the very best at whatever she chooses, just like her Mom.
We love you both. Hugs & kisses, Dad
