So this week... It started out just like any other S.E.P. Week, with a little eye twitching and loss of voice. But then Sunday afternoon happened - And let's just say, the cavalry, psychiatric care and a cleaning squad were needed. It all went down hill from there, and it's only Thursday.

Emotional Roller Coaster are always fun, and today was no exception. This particular coaster started last Saturday, when
Anje and I (mostly I - she had other ideas but that's a whole nuther ride) decided to go to the play that one of my students was in. It was the production of "The Sound of Music". It was being performed out at Tuachan High School by a Children's Musical Theater Company. When we got there, we ended up behind my student's mother in line and got to talking about the production company, the whos, the whats and the whys. It turns out that the director of the company used to own a children's production company in Denver, but sold it to move out here to Ivins. She started up another company, with the deal that she would work exclusively with Ivins City Recreational. But it turns out that so many of her students/proteges have ended up in Tuachan Productions that she uses their facilities for her own productions.
So anyway the play begins, it starts with a few featured soloist AND WOW!!!! AND WOW AGAIN - a little girl about 4 blew us away; her confidence, her voice skills and then in the play itself (She played Gretel) Amazing! So at intermission, we were looking at the names on the program and that's when we saw:

TRYOUTS for our production of "GREASE JR"
Thursday February 28, 2008
So we did - BUT we don't find out what her part is until next Thursday.
(I do have a little bit of help, so I'm hoping for a lead) On Wednesday, I was talking to
Anje's reading teacher in the hall and the tryouts came up. She was thrilled. Not only because she loves Anj to death but also because her children started out in the program and one is now on Broadway. Char has often mentioned to me how much Anje reminds her of her own daughter, so in the conversation she said that she was going to call the director and put in her two cents about Anj. Now it's only six more days away -AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

But on the other side, all my parents (except one) came to
SEP's. And I only had to yell at two, so all in all things are not too bad.
Just an Emotional Waiting Game!!! - Stay tuned - Peace Out!!
