The First Grade Jamboree was a success!!!
It went off without a hitch - and as designated MC of the day - I looked great.
I was so impressed with my student's attitudes and dance skills. I love them all so dearly.
I only had one student who didn't show up, but her mother did call (she is having a cold in her eyes). It all worked out though because there was an missing partner in Ms. Ohlsson's class and we paired them up perfectly.
The dances that my kids learned were:
The Virginia Reel (a partner dance)
The Texas Stomp (a line dance)
The Hand Jive
and The Hokey Pokey (the parents joined in on this one)
I had one grandpa come up to me after and tell me that he had never done the Hokey Pokey before.
Teaching all ages ;)
Well, tomorrow is Anje's big day! She finds out her part. She did hear through the grapevine (Amy Benton) that she does not get to be a pink lady, but she has an individual part. So stay tuned...
